You can write a news that connect the whole world

Ever since the launch of the World Wide Web (www) and the advance of the technologies nowadays, people get to surf online for information and news they wish to read. The news is not only focusing on a particular region, but you can also get international news from the news portal as well. But what are the issues for journalists in reporting for a global audience?

According to Vasani, V. (2012), he said that there is always the chance that the intended definition for the conveyed message is lost in the communication process. This is because different people will have different perception in communication due to the different personalities, cultural and experience gained (Vasani, V. 2012). Cultural perception is the issue that you may face during news reporting. Cultural perceptions will vary from place to place.

Jungwirth, B. (2012) said do not use metaphors or jokes. This is because not everyone may get your meaning of the jokes and they might take it seriously. Besides, be aware of the time zones and the units of measure you will be used in the article. This is because a different region might have different measuring units. For example, inch and centimetres. If you want to write the length in inch, you should have put the System International unit (SI unit) for length in the bracket as well. This is to ease the readers in reading the news. Next, the currency of a different country also needs to be changed accordingly to the country you are. For example, the Australian Dollar to Malaysia Ringgit.

As a journalist, you have to always bear in mind, at this high technology era, you are not only reporting the news to your local readers, you are writing for the whole world. Keep yourself update with news, make up your mind to produce a piece of work that is suitable for everyone to read.
