[PS Tutorial] Festival Hand Fan effect

Example of hand fan design

This is a Photoshop (PS) Tutorial I watched from TikTok (China).

Follow the steps below to have your own design of hand fan:

Step 1: Open PS - New file - any size of paper

Step 2: Create a new layer

Step 3: Select the rectangle tool and draw a rectangle.

Step 4: Ctrl+T – Free Transform, right-click to select ‘Skew’.

Step 5: Transform the shape to this and ENTER.

Step 6: Ctrl+J (to duplicate/ copy)

Step 7: Ctrl+T, right-click, select “Flip Horizontal”.

Step 8: Re-position it to align with the other one.

Step 9: Create a Hue/Saturation adjustment area. Select ‘This adjustment affects all layers below’. Adjust to a lower lightness.

Step 10: Select the two layers with shapes and hue/saturation layer, Ctrl+E to merge layer.

Step 11: Ctrl+J to duplicate/copy again. Ctrl+T to move the centre point to the top.

Step 12: Rotate and ENTER.

Step 13: Press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T (Repeatedly) can duplicate the whole shapes. Select all duplicated/copied layer, Ctrl+E to merge.

Step 14: Ctrl+U to change to any colour you like.

And last: DONE!
