What do you like to do when you are free?

平时闲下来的时候，你喜欢做什么？

I like to workout, sing and dance after going back home from work. Before going to bed, I like to read and watch series/drama/movies. During the weekend, I like to draw, art and craft and write some articles. We these hobbies, I spend my leisure time wisely and meaningful.

我喜欢下班后，独自一个人在房间里做运动，唱唱歌，跳跳舞。晚上睡觉前，我喜欢读读书，看看戏。周末没有工作的时候，我喜欢画画，做手工，写文章。培养这一系列的兴趣爱好，让我觉得我的生活多姿多彩。

I met my current boyfriend because of our hobbies.

当初，我也是因为兴趣爱好，认识了我现任男朋友。

We are not a robot, we work the whole day, for sure we hope to enjoy our own moments after work with some entertainment.

我们不是机器，我们在白天工作了一整天，下班回家后，也想要享受一下娱乐时光。

I once share with my friend, to be honest, I don't really like my current job, because I don't have the interest or I should say, it is not what I expected and what I like, not my professional. Thus, it makes me lost my motivation in work. I would consider to quit my current job and further study and do what I like, but since it is the only financial source I have, I have to continue my job until I found a job that allow me to unleash my talent. 
我曾经与朋友分享过，我不喜欢我现在的工作，因为没有兴趣，就没有推动力。要不是因为需要经济来源，我会考虑停下来，做做自己喜欢的事情。
I just hope to have my own time to enjoy what I like after every day work. This is the only motivation I could give myself. 
白天上班已经非常不愿意了，下班回家后，我只想要享受个人世界，沉溺在自己的兴趣中。
My friend asked me, if there is choices for you to choose between: "1. A job you interested, talented in, but the salary is low; 2. A job you do not like, non-related to any of your professional, but the salary is high", which one you will choose? 
然而朋友却问我：“如果你能够自己做选择，一份是你有兴趣，但薪资低的工作；另一份是你没有兴趣，但薪资高的工作，你选择哪份？”
I said, I will choose to work with the low salary one. I don't really care about the income because I thought if I could work with my interest and talent, I am really into every task, I have the motivation. Plus, low salary doesn't mean I will not get raise or promotion. 
我说：“我会选择前者。因为我认为只要有兴趣，就有热忱。虽然薪资低，但是也会有涨薪的时候。”
He did not answer but smile. 
他迷之微笑地看着我。

With my sharing/experience, it did not mean I encourage everyone to look for a job with interest. To me, interest = motivation.

我的分享，不是为了鼓励大家跟着自己的兴趣爱好找工作。因为俗话说“兴趣是可以培养的”。我的意思是，我缺少了在目前的工作中培养兴趣的动力。

Actually, we cultivate a hobby, it could accompany us until the end of our lives.

其实，我们在闲暇时培养的兴趣爱好，足以陪伴我们一生。

Last time when I was a part-time tutor, a student told me that he did not like to study, he likes drawing and his ambition is to be a cartoonist. But his parent did not allow him to draw, forced him to study only.

曾经有位不爱学习的学生告诉我：“老师，为什么我们要读书？我都不喜欢读书。我喜欢画画，想要当漫画家。可是我父母亲不了解我的兴趣，硬是逼迫我读书，不让我画画。”

I told my student, I also have my own interest, I like to sing and dreamt to become an artist.

我跟学生分享：“老师也有自己的兴趣，老师喜欢唱歌，老师也想要当明星。”

The elderly always says interest/hobby can't help you in your future income. To me, it can because interest = motivation. Everyone has their strengths, the things they like to do, unleash your talent, cultivate a hobby, you will succeed in the future.

前辈们总说：“兴趣不能当饭吃”。但我认为兴趣能够当饭吃。每个人都有自己擅长并有兴趣的东西，好好发挥自己的长处和培养自己的兴趣，总有一天，你也能成功。

And now, he is pursuing his dream, studying art course.

现在，他正在追求自己的梦想，学习艺术课程。

However, I did not chase my dream. I became an intern journalist for 3 months. And now, I worked in the port, every day do the market study about cargoes, track import and export cargo throughput. But because I have my hobby, it helps me to forget the unhappiness at workplace and release my stress and forget the sadness.

然而，我却没实现自己的梦想，我反而在毕业后，拿起笔，当起了3个月的记者；而现在，看了1年多的原料市场、港口吞吐量。但是兴趣爱好，依然是我的精神寄托，一个不带来压力的出口。

The hobby is the way for me to forget the sadness. The world is changing, and things are beyond our control. And when we are in trouble, unable to do anything, hobby is our spiritual companion.

兴趣是我精神上的依赖，世事多变，外在的环境影响不是你我能够掌握的，而当我们深陷困境，一筹莫展时，兴趣就成了你我的精神良伴。

Besides, when you cultivate an interest/hobby, practise workout and reading habit, you will realise that hobby also affected our emotional expression and emotional control.

此外，当你培养起兴趣才艺、培养运动、阅读的习惯，你将会发现这些兴趣影响着我们的情感呈现、情绪管理。

The money we earn could just accomany us for a while; the hobby we cultivated will be our life spiritual companion. 
我们赚的钱，只能陪伴我们一时；而我们培养的兴趣，可以陪伴我们一世，并为我们带来多姿多彩的生活。
