Happiness is... Shopping for stationery 幸福就是领了工资，去买文具

I have a special hobby: I love to buy stationery. And I believe, I am not the only one with this special hobby.

我有一个特殊爱好，那就是买文具。而且，我相信，我并不是唯一一位拥有这个特殊爱好者。

I can’t control myself when I go to bookstores or shop online. Whenever I go to a bookstore, I will always go to the section that sells stationery; whenever I open an e-commerce app, I will search for stationery at first.

每当我到书局，我都会不由自主地走到文具部；上淘宝等购物网站，我都无法控制自己不去搜索“文具”“手账文具”等。

And so, I have a lot of stationery but I still can’t stop myself from buying even though there is still plenty of stationery not yet finish using. I always buy stationery when I get my salary.

纵使我已经拥有用不完的文具，但我依然无法控制自己不去购买文具。

一旦领了工资，我就会买文具。

I feel happy and satisfy whenever I purchased new stationery, or I received my online parcel (stationery).

每当购买了新文具或是收到文具包裹，我都会感到无比地开心，幸福。

Experience being a stationery addict/lover 文具控地小小分享

Trust me, you are not alone when it comes to buying and making a collection of stationery. When I search #stationeryaddict on Instagram, it brings up to 1.5M posts of people who love and share about their stationery.

相信我，但凡谈到购买文具、收集文具，你并不是孤单一人。那天因为想要写这篇文章，我特地在Instagram上面搜索了#stationeryaddict的贴签，一看，我的天啊，你会发现到超过150万张贴都是文具控分享的文具贴。

Last time, my family ran a bookstore business (photocopy service, laminated service, selling stationery and so on). And since primary school, I always helped out at the bookstore. I felt so excited when there was a new stock of stationery came in. It was very difficult to explain and describe the excitement to you all and only stationery addicts will understand the feeling. 😊

十几年前，我家是经营文具书店的。小学放学后，我也常到店里帮忙。每当有新文具到店铺时，我都会感到莫名地兴奋，这感觉除了文具控能够体会到以外，非文具控绝不会明白的。

During studying time, I like to buy different colours highlighter for study. I always have them with me when I revising and I will not use them independently, I always mixed their colour and used it for different meaning and purposes. Just like this:

读书的时候，我喜欢买五颜六色的荧光笔，混合来做笔记。不同的颜色代表者不同的意思。

After graduating from high school, I have a part-time job and I always spent my income on stationery. I feel so satisfied when I bought new stationery (pens/pencils/stickers/fancy notebooks).

毕业之后，我找到了一份兼职，开始工作，有了少许收入。然而，我却喜欢把工资花在文具上。每次买了新文具之后都会非常地满足。

Until I realised I have too much stationery and I don’t fully utilise them, I started to search online and found out a way to use all my stationery at once – Bullet Journal.

At first, I only used the fancy notebook which I bought from the bookstore and the colour pens that I have. The more I search on Pinterest and YouTube about Bullet Journal, the more stationery I purchased.

知道我发现，我购买了很多文具，但我却不懂得怎么好好地使用它们，我开始下定决心，上网搜寻文具控的世界，偶然间让我接触到了——手账/子弹笔记。一开始，我把在书局购买的可爱笔记本和普通的彩色笔来开启我的手账路程。在摸索一番后，我彻底沦陷在手账的世界里了。

I always go to the bookstore for new pens and I always buy new stickers and washi tapes from the online store. I also bought containers and collect some biscuit/cookies tins to organise and keep my collections well and tidy.

我会经常到书局或是淘宝购买新的笔刷，彩色圆珠笔，可爱贴纸，和式胶卷等等。此外，为了让书桌看起来井井有条，我也入手了一些收纳盒，收集了一些饼干铁盒，来收集我的文具。

Why do I LOVE stationery? 为什么我喜欢文具？

1. I am a Bullet Journalist. 我是手账博主！

As I mentioned above, to fully utilise the stationery I have, I started my Bullet Journal journey. Throughout the journey, I felt that my life changed a lot, I am more organise and I am good in self and time management now. I feel so happy that I’ve solved the problem of having too much stationery and started to have self-discipline.

就如我说的，为了好好地利用我所有文具，我开起了手账旅程。在这途中，我发现自己的生活真的改善了不少。时间管理上，我变得更懂得安排自己的时间和项目。当然，踏入这个旅程，我感到非常开心，生活改变了，自己也变得更自律了。

There’s no right or wrong way to keep a journal/diary, you’ll find a cathartic release in expressing what’s truly on your mind, which will enable you to think clearly and introduce a new perspective on your behaviour and goals by using stationery.

通过文具和写日记，你会发现自己思路清晰，懂得怎么表达自我，培养好习惯，达到目标。

2. An alternative to digital communication in this modern world. 现代电子产品的后备。

The digital age was meant to go on paperless, but we still can’t get enough of pens, notebooks and fancy stickers, washi tapes and other stationery in our daily life.

The stationery business will not go to an end because there are still people buying it for different usages.

绿化环保无纸概念，并无法阻挡我们对文具的需求。文具链是无法绝亡的。因为每个人每天都会有文具需求。

For example, even though there are applications for minutes taker, but I believe you still use papers and pen and of course a recorder for a minute meeting.

比方说，虽然电子产品提供了无数的软件给会议记录者，但我相信依然还是有人坚持用录音笔、纸和笔来记录会议纪要。

Another example, we will still use papers and pen for letter-writing even though we can do it through computer and email.

此外，虽然我们能够通过电邮邮寄重要文件，但是，难免还需要纸张、信封传送重要文件。

Although we have computer internal and external storage for file and documentation, you will still have a physical filing and documentation system on your working desk.

Thus, from all these examples, we can see that stationery is an alternative to digital communication/application in this modern world.

虽然电脑里有提供存档的网盘，USB等等，但是，很多公司还是会采用文件夹储存重要文件。

继而可见，文具在电子时代还是依然重要，无可替代的。

3. A way of meditation and stress release. 舒缓压力的管道

With digital calendars, digital notes and so many management apps so readily accessible on our phones, the thought of keeping a handwritten diary or journal seems unnecessary today. But having a journal/notebook, it whisks you away from your screen

staring at a paper page is much kinder to the eyes than LED light and allows us to retreat to a calm space to write. Find a place where you can have complete relaxation and free to express yourself such as your favourite café or your bed.

电子产品上拥有无数的电子日历，电子笔录和管理程序、软件，让一本本日记都看起来毫无购买价值。但是，日记本能够让你暂时把盯着电脑屏幕的视线转移至书本上，缓和缓和一下。适当地找个自己觉得舒服的地方、咖啡馆，看看自己笔记本，舒缓一下身心灵。

Normally, after going back home from heavy and stressed work, I will like to have a ‘self-time’ to release my stress of a day. Besides workout, I like to sit down and watch some drawing and doodling videos/posts on YouTube, Pinterest and Tiktok, then draw on my Bullet Journal.

我平时下班回家就会给自己“娱乐时间”。除了运动，我喜欢画画，做手工。

Sometimes, a colouring book can also help you to release your stress after a long working day. Just sit down and take out your colour pencils and colouring book, then start your creativity.

我偶尔会给自己买一本填色书，让自己在卸下忙碌的工作后，安静地发挥自己的艺术创意天分。

4. It will make us more organised and think out of the box, unleash out creativity. 文具让我变得更有条理，更有创意。

As I said, I have too much stationery, and to organise all the stationery accordingly, I bought containers and collected biscuit/cookies tins to keep them. I divided them accordingly: stickers, washi tapes, colour pens, stamps and stamp pads, and other tools such as penknife, scissors, ruler, glue and so on.

因为我有很多文具，所以我会经常购买收纳盒来整理文具，让自己更有条理。我一般都会把文具归类整理，如贴纸、和式胶卷、颜色笔、印章和印章泥、手工刀、剪刀、尺子、胶水等等。

With this, it makes me being more organise and I will always clean my desk biweekly. This is to see what collection I have and being forgotten by me, and I will plan how to use them.

因为担心有一些文具会被我遗忘在角落，所以我会不时地整理文具，策划怎么使用它们。

With having a collection of stationery, it helps to unleash our creativity and talent in drawing and designing. You might refer to others on how they design their reading notes, their notebooks, their laptop and some other personal things with stickers and washi tapes. 收集文具也能够让你发挥自己的创意、艺术天赋。你可以上网搜索参考别人的艺术作品，看看他们是怎么完美地利用文具（贴纸/和式胶卷）来设计自己的读书笔记、记事本、笔记电脑等等。

There are posts/videos about how the bullet journalists design and do their daily spread/diary with papers, stickers, washi tapes and stamps. Then, think out of the box, how you may do different and special with the stationery you have.

就好比我每个月都会花一些时间来看看别人的作品，策划设计排版自己的手账本。

Stationery has transformed significantly over the decade from normal and ‘boring’ office essentials, to some pretty and luxury pieces with various types of option in the market nowadays for every use and personality.

经过几个世纪，文具已经从乏味枯燥的办公室文具，变成了让人类发挥创意和艺术天赋的文具。

No matter it is just a normal ball pen or a piece of paper, it still brings plenty of benefits and satisfies the stationery addicts/ lovers in this digital era.

无论它是一支普通的圆珠笔还是单纯的一张白纸，对文具控而言，它们有着无数的好处，能够满足文具控的每一天。

After all, stationery still makes us feel comfortable and enjoyable. At least, you can still find something that cheers you up and release your tension.

至少，文具能够给我带来无数的欢喜，让我释放压力和烦恼。
